The Roads on the island are not safe for vehicles yet alone cyclists!
Cllr Jordan it’s 2024 what is the island doing about installing cycle lanes?
The island is so far behind Khan’s London.
Cycle Lanes are everywhere, make it safe for cyclists and better for the climate
The island is full of dirty diesel and petrol vehicles polluting the Island
You posted that to the wrong platform, they don’t like the truth here.
30 years ago I had to go to London a lot. The air was awful. It is significantly better now. But no tailpipe snorting oil shill will ever admit that.
This junction needs a zebra crossing (Not saying this is relevant to this event)
A zebra crossing on a roundabout? Like to know how that would work.
Well, Id say install pedestrian barriers where the dropped kerb is now, and put a zebra crossing about 10 meters closer to the petrol station.
One of the most dangerous roads to cross in England, yet alone
the isle of Wight
Don’t cross there then. Walk up the road a bit, where it is safe.
Really?
When was the last accident there?
Not surprised people drive like idiots round the industrial estate just to go to Curry’s ,what’s the rush I don’t get it
Because they need the VindaLOO.
Not a nice junction that..im surprised more people have’nt been hurt there.
It is a horrible junction made worse when people don’t indicate.
A nightmare for pedestrians too
There is no road safety on the Island.
A Council with brains would of at least by now installed a Zebra crossing.
I am surprised they even have a flyover on the island!
Useless clueless B’stards
Spot on. Given it’s a thoroughfare between the IoW College and the town centre, there should be some priority for pedestrians. And no cycle lane in sight.
The junction is dangerous for pedestrians as crossing right on it, car’s coming from industrial often don’t indicate right and cut roundabout to get to Sainsbury’s. As others have said council need to improve. 100s if not 1000s have to cross 3m from roundabout.
This lady has probably been riding her bike many years and road safe, hope she recovers.
Councillor Garrett , I thought you were sorting out this dangerous roundabout a few years ago ???
