Hovertravel have been forced to suspend their Ryde-Southsea service this lunchtime (Saturday) as a result of the adverse weather conditions.
Strong winds on the Solent have forced the operator to cancel crossings in both directions until further notice. An update is expected at 14:00.
Meanwhile, Red Funnel have cancelled the 12:15 Red Jet from Southampton and the 12:45 from West Cowes due to a technical issue.
A yellow weather warning for strong winds and storm surges has been issued by the IW Met Service. It comes into force at 21:00 tonight.
UPDATE @ 14:40 – Hovertravel advise that services are once again operating to timetable.
Wightlink say all of their services are operating as normal today.
UPDATE @ 21:35 – Hovertravel have suspended their service tonight.
The next update will be provided at 08:15 tomorrow morning.

To be honest a fixed link would make it so much easier for my mates from south London to come over and see me for the day. Brixton massive in da house ..
