Emergency services are attending a collision involving multiple vehicles on Pelhurst Road in Ryde this morning (Wednesday).
2 appliances from Ryde Fire Station are on scene and the Police’s attendance has been requested.
The crash, which happened just before 09:00, has occurred between Pell Lane and Ratcliffe Avenue.
It’s understood the Toyota Yaris exited Pell Lane before crashing into at least 1 vehicle, with a third vehicle also thought to be involved.
The driver of the Yaris is not medically or physically trapped.
The road is closed in both directions.
UPDATE – Pelhurst Road has now re-opened.

you island drivers are so bad. do they do driving tests over there
Yes Bob and we also practise basic grammar too.
I was following a driving instructors car this morning that was giving someone a lesson. They kept to the speed limits but not once did they indicate where they were going on roundabouts. If that is the standard of teaching is it any wonder how bad the driving is over here?
What gets me are the idiots driving on the Downs yesterday with no lights on in thick fog !!!! What are they teaching them these days ???
If you are not even on the island, why are you even commenting or interested. Go back to your perfect mainland driving.
Wow, so many muppets on the road at the moment! Idiots that crash a car need to have their licence removed as they clearly have no clue what to do. Lol
