A crash has forced the closure of Middle Road between Carisbrooke and Calbourne this morning (Bank Holiday Thursday).
Emergency services are currently responding to the incident, which is understood to have occurred near to Pump Lane in the Swainston area.
Police have closed the road at the junction of Betty Haunt Lane and Elm Lane.
Southern Vectis Route 7 buses are diverting from Carisbrooke via Gunville, Forest Road and Elm Lane. This diversion will apply in both directions.

But the chances are that it was caused by bad driving. Saw a couple of near misses myself yesterday, impatient people overtaking cycles or slow moving vehicles when they have no idea what is coming towards them round the bend – me!
