A Ryde woman has been charged with drink driving following a 2-car crash in Shalfleet yesterday evening (Friday). As previously reported by Island Echo, Police, fire and ambulance were called to the scene A3054 Main Road at Shalfleet at around 18:00 on Friday evening. The incident saw 2 vehicles involved on the west side of the traffic lights, near Church Lane. A grey Kia and a red Peugeot were the vehicles involved. Paramedics tended to those involved, but no serious injuries were sustained. The road was blocked for a time whilst the involved vehicles were recovered. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has today (Saturday) confirmed that Jodie Louise Fishwick, 35, of Mitchells Road in Ryde, was subsequently charged with drink driving and will appear before Island magistrates on Tuesday 7th May.
