A man has been charged following a business burglary investigation on the Isle of Wight. Roland Howard Tomlin, aged 46, of Terminus Road in Cowes, has been charged with the following offences:
- Burglary at Marks & Spencer in Cowes on 15th November.
- Attempted burglary at The Anchor in Cowes on 15th November.
- Attempted burglary at Cowes Social Club on 15th November.
- Attempted burglary at The Garden on Cowes High Street on 15th November.
- Theft of alcohol from Marks & Spencer in Cowes on 15th November.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday 16th November)

Wonder how many others he got away with?.
He’s not a very good burglar apparently. How about applying yourself to something else, like getting a job and supporting yourself instead of helping yourself to other peoples belongings? I wonder what else he’s been up to?
And the magistrate will be crying so hard as they accept whatever flimsy excuse his solicitor comes up with that they won’t be able to see to pass down anything like a proper sentence.
Obviously, he will use the mental health problems and drug use excuses. Work every time.
he was jailed back in 2020 for robbing in cowes as reported in island echo and was in court only a couple of months ago.
roly tomlin has sunk even further – he won’t be changing any time soon – this guy was getting wasted on drugs back in the mid 1990’s
Talk about doing it on your door step silly man
