Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt – the 2 politicians vying for the position of Leader of the Conservative party and ultimately Prime Minister – have been on the Isle of Wight today (Thursday).
Jeremy was first to arrive on the Island when he landed in Yarmouth this morning. He was greeted by locals at Yarmouth Harbour. He then made his way over to Shanklin Conservative Club at around 13:00 where he spoke to members of the Isle of Wight Conservative Association.
Earlier on this afternoon, Boris Johnson arrived at Fishbourne via the Wightlink ferry from Portsmouth. He made his way to East Cowes to visit Wight Shipyard Co, posing in front of the famous Union Jack doors. He met Isle of Wight MP Bob Seely who showed him around the shipyard and explained the work that takes place.
Boris took a great interest in the work of Wight Shipyard and its workforce and noted a recent contract which has seen the Isle of Wight firm supply boats to Mexico.
After a series of photo opportunities, Boris left East Cowes to head across the Island to Shanklin to also address local Conservative members.
The outcome of the leadership contest is expected to be known next month.
Great man .hope he wins .
Onwards and upwards Boris, good luck delivering true democracy that the UK people voted for.
Jeremy Hunt is another Teresa May that has no respect for true democracy, if he wins I hope his boots that he will use to kick the can down the road are the wrong size.
If you win and our undemocratic parliament denies Brexit yet again, you must call for a general election, then make a deal with the Brexit party.
When that’s done most of that lot in the house of corruption will be out!..

They should come to Shanklin Conservative Club more often. First time Cross Street has seen some parking enforcement for 8 years…….
