Police and HM Coastguard are in attendance at Culver Down this afternoon (Tuesday) owing to concerns for the welfare of an individual at the cliff edge.
Emergency services are on scene at the East Wight beauty spot having been alerted to the situation shortly before 15:50.
Sandown Lifeboat has also responded to the incident and is standing off.
Specially trained individuals are talking with the individual, who is located on the cliff edge near Sue’s Gate.
Culver Down remains open for recreational use.
UPDATE @ 17:30 – Sandown Lifeboat has now stood down from the incident, with other resources also standing down.
It’s understood the male is now safe having returned to the correct side of the safety fence.
