Concerns for the welfare of an individual has prompted a response to Culver Down by Police and HM Coastguard this morning (Sunday).
A number of Police officers have rushed to the scene, alongside Coastguard officers from both Bembridge and Ventnor.
The alarm was raised shortly before 10:00.
This morning’s incident is the latest in a series of emergency responses to despondent individuals around the coast of the Isle of Wight over the past week or so.
UPDATE @ 11:00 – The incident is ongoing at this time as Police talk to an individual who has taken up position on the cliff edge.
UPDATE @ 11:30 – Police have successfully talked down the male. He is now safe and well on the correct side of the fence.
Rescue teams are expected to stand down shortly.
