Coastguard Rescue Teams are assisting Police in the search for a missing person near Freshwater tonight (Tuesday).
As the sun sets Police have been joined by Coastguard Officers from The Needles and Ventnor at Tennyson Down, between Freshwater and Alum Bay.
Teams were mobilised shortly before 21:20 as a result for the concern for welfare.
It is unclear who search teams are looking for as there has been no official appeal for information from Police.
UPDATE @ 21:55 – Freshwater Independent Lifeboat were also tasked to the incident, but it has been confirmed that they have since been stood down.
It is thought the search has been brought to a successful close.
UPDATE @ 22:50 – All search teams have been stood down.
The high risk missing person has been found safe and well elsewhere.
