The Quay Arts’ annual Christmas Cracker Weekend returns on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December. With over 20 craft stalls of local artists/craft makers in the West & Clayden Gallery, selling their wonderful handmade items, on both days between 10:00– 16:00. The perfect place to find inspiration for gifts this Christmas. Not only will the Craft Fair be taking place, Quay Arts will also be hosting a variety of fun events and activities over the weekend to get all the family involved… The popular ‘Little City’ returns to Quay Arts with a Christmas special over the Christmas Cracker Weekend. Join the Little City gang on the Saturday for a fun session of imaginative unique role-play for children 6 years and under. Booking is required, go to quayarts.org for more info and to book. Quay Arts will be running a FREE family art drop-in on Saturday 10:00 – 13:00 in the Seminar Room. Come along and decorate your own festive wrapping paper and Christmas labels, the drop-in is FREE, no booking is required just turn up. On the Sunday of the Christmas Cracker Weekend, Quay Arts will have a special visit from Enchanted Isle! Join Captain America and Queen Elsa for a festive Storytime in the Anthony Minghella Theatre, 10:30 – 11:30. Booking is required. Plus, Live Music from ‘The Christmas Bells’ band in the Café on both days 1.30-3.30pm, with some delicious Christmas specials on offer to tuck into. On Sunday evening you can also catch the Salutaris Choir – a small chamber choir of 12 singers which performs mostly a Capella choral music from a huge repertoire spanning renaissance to 21st century pieces. Based on the Isle of Wight they feature Baltic and Scandanavian music led by a Lithuanian director of music Jurgita Leistrumailte. On the 3rd of December they shall sing, amongst other things, sacred choral music from the Baltics. Booking is required. For more information or to book please go to quayarts.org!
