Those heading out for a walk over the Christmas and New Year period should take extra caution following a large cliff fall at Atherfield.
A substantial section of the coast has given way, collapsing into the sea.
These photographs, sent in by an Island Echo reader on Boxing Day, show the size of the collapse just off the Military Road.
On the other side of the Island, it’s known that the Bembridge to Whitecliff Bay coastal path (BB10) has also become dangerous with the path very close to the edge in places, partticvuarly near the riding school.
