Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are in attendance at a road traffic collision between a pedestrian and a van in East Cowes this afternoon (Friday).
A child has been hit by a moving vehicle on Beatrice Avenue, close to Queensgate Primary School.
The incident occurred just before 15:30 as school children were heading home for the weekend.
Police have closed the road.
UPDATE @ 16:20 – A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary has said:
“We were called at 3.15pm with reports of a collision on Beatrice Avenue, East Cowes.
“A van and a child on a scooter were involved.
“The child did not suffer life-threatening injuries”.
The road is now thought to have re-opened.































































































I picked my grandson up from there today and a bloke drove a van at speed because he was frustrated at the amount of cars that he was giving way too. He nearly took me out. I really hope the child is ok.
