southernvectisroute1launchThere are often many misconceptions about driving buses, and Southern Vectis is giving people an opportunity give it a go, so they can see it is not as daunting as they may initially have thought. 

In an industry dominated by men and is often overlooked as a career for women. Women account for around 22% of Southern Vectis’ workforce. This figure is well above the average for bus companies across the UK, but the firm believes much more can be done to show this is an exciting and viable career option.

The event is at BAE Systems, Newport Road, Cowes on Saturday (3rd October) between 10:00-15:00.

Southern Vectis training school driving instructors will be taking people around the test drive circuit, discussing various aspects of the job and providing information. There are a limited number of test drive slots so those interested in participating are advised to book in advance by calling 01983 827000.

Route 1 (red 1) bus drops off right outside but there is parking available on site.

For the use of the facility, Southern Vectis will be giving a donation to Ability Dogs as BAE Systems’ Charity of the Year.
