A car has left the road and rolled into a field between Newport and Wootton this afternoon (Saturday).
The crash, which has involved just 1 vehicle, has occurred on Staplers Road close to Butterfly World and Solent Grange.
Emergency services, including 2 ambulances, an ambulance officer and Police, are in attendance at the scene, however, no one is thought to have been trapped or seriously injured.
The incident occurred at just before 14:30 when a blue Ford Ka travelling uphill towards Newport careered off the road, through a hedge and into the field.
At least 2 occupants are being tended to by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
The road remains open under give and take with minor delays.
Beyond comprehension…
It’s a straight road! What is wrong with people…
driver retest needed
Yawn, are you a robot ?
Should have gone to Spec Savers
Probably did and received the wrong glasses lol.
Amazing parking.. hope the occupants are okay.
Let’s hope everyone is ok and some of the comments on here don’t comment on something until all facts are known and then the only people that know what went on were in the car.
Glad no one was seriously hurt and I’ll not comment on the reasons the car left the road. However one would have to be going VERY fast to cross the verge, smash through a hedge and end up that far into the field.
Well said, JHVF. My thoughts exactly.
Silly season is here
Terrible driving on this island people going to fast no indication where there going and mirrors not used how did this happen I wonder
Another twat wasting emergency service time?
Oh dear…..took a left turn where there was no left turn. Tragic.
SLOW DOWN its not rocket science is it.
Unbelievable the amount of “accidents” on the Island . Very high percentage driver error NOT mechanical faults. Seeing how people drive now is so bad. Hardly anyone sticks to speed limits. The ones that do are being “pushed” by the people that don’t and what’s all the hassle with using indicator’s ? Feel sorry for all emergency services. They do a fantastic job here on the Island. If drivers say weather /slippery roads to blame WHY not drive according to conditions . If road was as bad as they say why wasn’t road closed immediately and why did everyone else seem to stay ON the road
Another on the way home after a few points at the office party……..
