UPDATED: A motorcyclist has been involved in a collision with a car on Ashey Road in Ryde this afternoon (Saturday).
Emergency services are in attendance at the junction with Bettsworth Road, where a motorcycle has collided with the driver’s side of a red Citroen DS3. The small hatchback has in turn collided with a wall.
Two ambulances, a rapid response paramedic and two Police units are on scene and are understood to be attending to 2 casualties.
The collision occurred at just before 16:10.
Ashey Road remains open in both directions under Police direction, however Bettsworth Road is partially shut.
UPDATE @ 17:21 – One person – thought to be the motorcyclist – has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance this afternoon. The extent of his injuries is currently unknown.
It has emerged that the hatchback car narrowly avoided colliding with a child on the pavement. Thankfully, the boy has escaped any injury.
Recovery of the vehicles has been arranged by Police, who remain in attendance at the scene.
