A car has rolled onto its side after clipping a verge in Havenstreet this evening (Wednesday).
The white Vauxhall Corsa crashed at just gone 17:30, prompting a call to Police.
Officers are now on scene near Combley Woods.
No one has been injured in the incident. The driver is thought to be a young female.
The road remains open at this time but traffic is slightly delayed in the area and is under Police direction.

Was at the scene… All I can say is it wasn’t the drivers fault!!! Unless people know the facts they shouldn’t speculate.
I’ve had several near misses on that part of road due to other drivers not staying on their side of the road
Yes that could well be the reason – I admit I have experienced this along this road.
I work just next to that piece of road and 3 cars have rolled over there, a Saxo, this Vauxhall and a Punto, in the last few months. Driving along it regularly I can’t possibly see how it can happen – hope the feedback from the drivers involved may shed some light on the possible hidden danger here?

I blame island Roads, maybe not this accident, but a few accidents have happened because of the way the new road surface is now higher in places and leaves a steep edge!!

glad to hear the driver is ok and uninjured. Would defiantly like to know why this happened but glad the out come of it is that the driver is ok
Must be a really dangerous bit of road………. needs speed humps, traffic lights, roundabouts, new signs, new lighting, kerbs re-done, barriers, at least 10 speed cameras and cctv!!!! Just like all the other dangerous roads out there.

West Wighter has a point, there are some very bad ‘tarmac edges’ and if you should drop a wheel off the edge it can get quite interesting. We obviously don’t know the case here but also, and conversely, the new kerb on the inside of the bend at the top of that road is an unnecessary hazard
1000’s of cars use that road every day so its not the road it must be the drivers
Inexperienced driver , all day long others drive this stretch if road so not road fault, same all over the Island the roads must be at fault!
