Traffic is building in the St George’s area of Newport this afternoon (Wednesday) as a result of a crash between a car and a motorcycle.
Emergency services have been alerted to the road traffic collision at the Matalan roundabout at St George’s Way.
The busy road from Blackwater to Newport has been brought down to a single lane heading into the county town.
UPDATE @ 16:27 – Hampshire Constabulary say that they are responding to a collision between a car and a moped having been alerted at around 16:22.
1 individual – thought to be the motorcyclist – has been injured and is being tended to by paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
UPDATE – A teenage girl has been taken to St Mary’s Hospital. Her injuries are not thought to be serious.
