Ban motorcycles and lorries.
what a prat
From where exactly??? You’re implying motorbikes and lorries are the cause of accidents have you not noticed the amount of incompetent car drivers on this island motorbikers are more aware of their surroundings because there open to the elements unlike car drivers with music blaring, chatting to their mates, on the phone and sending a text lorry drivers are more aware of their surroundings as they sit up a lot higher and their professional drivers like myself. I think your remark is selfish and judgemental…
You need to stop getting on your high horse. Look at the stats, the highest involved motorcycles, scooters and lorries. Judging by the picture of that car, that does not look like someone who was driving recklessly. I bet my last dollar this was the motorcyclist fault. Also, you mention music blaring, on the phone etc.. you need to report this because this is dangerous driving, add speeding to that please. I am sorry, lorries are far too big and dangerous, bring back the days we had freight rail and canals. No more lorries. Motorcycles are just too dangerous. that’s my POV.
Anony! You Pratt!!
Why don’t you move back to the mainland you’ve no place over here.
Get off my high horse sounds like you want to revert back to horses if you didn’t have lorries where are all the shops going to get their products from and all the food where we going to put a canal on the Isle of Wight where is there space for freight Rail it’s not the mainland it’s the Isle of Wight can’t you tell by all the comments that people think you are actually very judgemental a very narrow minded about things it was a 58 year old man do you honestly think a 58 year old man on a Triumph motorcycle not a performance motorcycle would be riding recklessly I think not I wonder what anyone else would be thinking
Idiot
Don’t agree with your statement maybe you should be banned, idiot.
There are far too many very bad drivers on the Island, and it’s only going to get worse.
and too many motocyclists that think they are on a racetrack, weaving in and out of traffic, overtaking at excess speeds. my wife was in the holdup to get past the accident and said bikes were flying past on wrong side of road then!!
We can do that y the cars has stop look in ur hi way book u can see wot bikes can do
hope your riding is a lot better than your grammar you muppet!
When are drivers on this island going to learn… Everyday there is a crash or RTA of some kind…. Crazy
Never – bad driving is nothing new and I think if you Google it you’ll find the roads are actually no.more dangerous than they’ve ever been and possibly a lot safer.
Check the stats Island drivers have a simlar safety record with most counties on the mainland, in most cases better. To think we can go a day without an accident on our roads is a bit naive.
A crash is the same thing as RTC. It’s not called a RTA ( road traffic accident) any more because that implies that it was an accident. And if that’s the case there no one is to blame that’s why it was changed to RTC (road traffic collision) so at an end of an investigation someone could liable for prosecution.
Why don’t you all keep your comments to yourselves, until you know the facts how the accident occurred!! Really
Exactly, more respect to those involved
Accidents happen for all sorts of reasons just looking at your speedo at the wrong time can cause an accident and this a serious one for the motor cycle rideer so to all you ignorant prats making stupid judgmental comments who have no idea of what actually happened keep you opinions to yourself as the next time it could be you
I think we should remember there is another family waiting to see if there loved one is going to make it or if they will lose them. I would like to send my sincere hopes and prayers for the injured motorcyclist.
Roads are dangerous if people are dangerous. That includes bikes, motorbikes, cars, lorries, caravans etc etc etc. It is not the form of transport it is the human controlling it.
Amen Claire well said.
Just to say I was following a bike this morning on the middle Road doing about 40mph.
An Audi pulled out in front of me by the causeway junction, and then drove hard up behind the biker trying to overtake……
He overtook on the junction by Chessell pottery!
Luckily there was no one pulling out of that junction!!!!!!!
So my point is there’s a lot of bad car drivers out there, especially the idiot in the Audi !
Awful lot of ***hats complaining about fast bikes doing dangerous things. It’s a blardy classic triumph by the looks of it, ridden by a 58 year old bloke. Whats he likely to have been doing? Swanning aggressively? He was probably out for a trundle for a cream tea for gods sake.
Also to the hand wringer moaning about bikes ‘flying past in the opposite lane’ whilst their misses was sat in traffic really needs to go and familiarise themselves with the highway code. It’s called filtering and it’s perfectly legal. The ironic fact you don’t know this is precisely why so many bikes get nailed by cars, usually diven by people totally ignorant of their existance and the different laws regarding their use on the road.
As a motorcyclist I have had 4 accidents on the road, one was being pulled out on by a peugeot on a nsl road, 100% liability in the car drivers direction. The other 3 have been me being struck whilst waiting at traffic lights and roundabouts by idiots in cars that don’t look or are too busy doing something OTHER THAN DRIVING THEIR RUBBISH ****BOXES.
Also 3 of these 4 cars were being driven by women. That means it is statistically safer for me to be doing 150 mph on the road than it is for me to be sat stopped at a junction on a bike surrounded by car driving women. Crazy world.
Yes, foggy
