Building The Bay Steering Group has announced that the 3 Bay councils – Sandown, Lake and Shanklin – have agreed to fund all proposed projects for the coming year.
This marks a significant step forward in their mission to enhance The Bay Area.
The first project, The Bay Business Association, is set to launch at the end of this month. This initiative aims to foster collaboration and growth among local businesses. Additionally, new branding has been developed and will soon be visible across various platforms, highlighting projects and partnerships.
Following closely, a second project will introduce a website dedicated to sharing information about Bay Area Place Plan activities. This website will enable residents to stay informed about ongoing projects and find ways to get involved.
The steering group are also calling for community champions to help implement ideas from the Place Plan and contribute new ideas that align with its goals. Building the Bay is seeking individuals with expertise and interest in heritage and natural environment.
These individuals will not only provide input to existing projects but also initiate their own special interest-based projects. Meetings are held every 3 months, typically in the evening.
More exciting projects are already in the pipeline, aimed at developing our community and environment.
Interested individuals can contact Paddy Lightfoot, Chair of Building the Bay, at [email protected] or Laura Cansdale, Bay Regeneration Programme Manager, at [email protected] to discuss the roles.
Applicants should email their area of interest and expertise to [email protected] by 30th April.
