A 23ft fishing vessel with steering problems has been towed to safety by Cowes RNLI lifeboat this afternoon (Friday).
Solent Coastguard requested the launch of the Atlantic 85 ‘Sheena Louise’ at just gone 14:00 following reports that a nearby vessel had got into difficulty.
The casualty boat, which was at anchor off Thorness Bay, has been successfully towed to East Cowes by the volunteer lifeboat crew.
2 persons on board were given safety advice.
This was the first shout for new boat crew member Libby Finch (pictured on board the fishing boat).
