The Community/Coastal Safety Officer from Bembridge RNLI has taken to social media to thank the person(s) who painted and placed the upbeat pebble messages on Culver Down.
In a post on their Facebook page yesterday (Sunday) Alan Doe the Community/Coastal Safety Officer said he was walking along the top of Culver Cliff over the New Year and was delighted to find lots of delicately painted pebbles on fence posts.
Some of the messages read ‘Never Never Never’ with a drawing of a heart, another one said ‘Talk to us anytime you like 116 123’ – the number for Samaritans.
Alan Doe, the Community/Coastal Safety Officer for Bembridge RNLI, said:
“Happy New year to all from Bembridge.
“I was walking along the top of Culver Cliff over the New Year and was delighted to find lots of delicately painted pebbles on the fence post each with an upbeat message and a number to phone if you are not feeling great.
“A big thank you to whoever has done these.
“An excellent intervention.”
