The Isle of Wight Council’s traffic regulation order (TRO) consultation for Shanklin, Sandown and the surrounding areas has been extended until 16th February, it has been announced. Public comments submitted since the consultation began in December remain valid. New comments on the various proposals can be made via the council’s website TRO page. TROs usually relate to changes on the highway such as double yellow lines, one-way streets or no right or left turns. The proposed changes on the highway have been recommended following requests from the public, town and parish councils and local councillors. They have been assessed initially by Island Roads in partnership with Isle of Wight Council and Shanklin area consultation includes 18 sites, whilst Sandown has 16.
