A man accused of rolling his car onto its roof in Ventnor whilst under the influence of drugs and alcohol has been released on bail.
As first reported by Island Echo, emergency services attended High Street, Ventnor on Wednesday evening after receiving reports that a red Toyota Yaris had overturned. A 43-year-old man was subsequently located and arrested on suspicion of driving whilst drunk and driving whilst under the influence of drugs.
He was further arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent after allegedly punching a member of the public.
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed to Island Echo that the man has now been released from police custody on conditional bail until the 15th September while enquiries continue.
