A woman in her 40s has been arrested on suspicion of wounding without intent following an incident in Wootton last night (Sunday).
Police were called at 19:45 to reports of an assault at an address at Wootton Lodge, off Church Road.
A large number of officers responded to the scene alongside the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, which dispatched a single ambulance crew.
It has been confirmed this morning that a woman sustained a cut to her head during the incident, which required hospital treatment. However, the injury is not deemed serious.
Hampshire Constabulary says that a woman in her 40s – understood to be a 46-year-old woman – was arrested on suspicion of wounding without intent and remains in custody at this time.
Police placed ‘do not cross’ cordon tape across the front door to the property at the centre of last night’s incident.
