A man in his 50s has been arrested after an ‘altercation’ which prompted a significant Police response in Newport earlier this afternoon (Friday).
Officers were called at 14:09 to reports of an altercation off of Fairlee Road, in the vicinity of Mews Lane.
It was reported that a man had made threats towards a woman.
A large number of Police attended the scene and arrested a man for a currently unknown offence.
The suspect remains in custody at this time.
