A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of breaching a criminal behaviour order, as well as being involved in a homophobic-related public order offence, when Police descended on Ryde at lunchtime today (Tuesday).
Officers attended Union Street in the town at midday following reports of a man allegedly in breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
A number of units responded to the scene and blocked the busy main street for a short time.
A 30-year-old man was subsequently arrested in nearby Church Lane on suspicion of breaching a CBO. He was also arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis and on suspicion of a homophobic-related public order offence.
He remains in custody at this time.
Officers also arrested a 44-year-old man on Union Street who was wanted on warrant for failing to appear in court.
