Armed Police and an air ambulance have been deployed to a serious incident in Shanklin tonight (Monday), which has led to the arrest of at least 1 woman.
Emergency services have descended on an address at St John’s Road in the town with 2 ambulance crews, rapid response paramedics and flying medics from Dorset Air Ambulance all in attendance.
Multiple armed Police officers from both sides of the Solent and 2 dog units are also involved in the operation that began sometime around 22:30.
The air ambulance has landed at a nearby cricket club with the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance also scrambled, but stood down en-route.
Island Echo can reveal that at least 1 person has been arrested and has been taken into custody in cuffs.
Tonight’s incident evolves around a property near the junction of Orchardleigh Road.
UPDATE @ 23:57 – Medical teams are now standing down from the incident and the air ambulance has taken off, but a heavy Police presence remains.
A scene guard has been established with the road cordoned off.
Crime scene investigators have been alerted and are expected to arrive on scene in the coming hours.
Hampshire Constabulary has been approached for a statement and further information is expected on Tuesday morning.
UPDATE TUESDAY – A man has been found with fatal injuries inside a residential address, Police have confirmed.
