Year 11 students at Christ the King College have been told to self isolate following a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the year group.
The school says they have been advised by Public Health England of the positive test result within the school community.
In a letter to parents, the senior leadership team say they know that the news may be concerning, but that they are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.
The school remains open and all students, apart from those Year 11s told to stay home, should continue to attend if they remain well.

Seems the most idiotic way of allowing children to attend school so close to many then mixing over the Christmas period indoors with relatives and others.
Surely it would be wise to close for two weeks before the big day, so as those who have caught CV at school would then show some symptoms.
The lost education, which pre Christmas for many is minimal, would be better than losing a family member so very close to the vaccine being made available
Send the children home NOW. Too late IS too late.
Year 11 have been told to stay at HOME
Many have siblings in other years and or friends they travel with, so can easily spread. A two weeks period BEFORE the big day would give all a chance to show symptoms before killing granny.
I KNOW that many children will still mix out of school with friends BUT NOT 30 each day, all day in a confined environment.
Send them all HOME, IF the cure was not so close or unlikely to be found, fine, live with it, but this close would be like getting shot on the last day of the war.
Did someone sneeze once and run for a fake test.Latest fashion on all the social media
Their deep faith of the children there perhaps, it is believed, will protect all of them from harm. Let’s hope so and their families.
Christ the king don’t even clean there classrooms after someone has tested positive, they just wach a new year group in the classrooms straight after. its a joke,
One hell of an accusation hope you have plenty of evidence to back that up. My daughter as been attending that school since the start even through emergency provision as an NHS worker personally the practices in place are as good as anywhere. But yet none of you would have a problem eating out or walk through a crowded high street without a mask. The Best thing for everyone to do is ditch social media and think for you’re selves.
