The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed in Ryde to assist in a medical incident this morning (Sunday).
Residents in the vicinity of Simeon Street Recreation Ground were awoken by the sound of the helicopter and its specialist flying doctors touching down on the grass at just after 00:20.
It’s understood that the helicopter was scrambled from its mainland base in response to an ongoing medical emergency in the area.

Awe sounds serious xx
Lucky the air ambulance could touch down after the recent flooding of the children’s recreation ground. Those flood measures did not work then, as houses in Simeon Street were once again flooded. Good job it isn’t a car park, as far as the patient was concerned. That’s what the council wants…
Certainly Lady D.
Wait until the huge amount of homes are built, they will need a flying boat, not a helicopter to land there then.
The flood defences do work. The rec floods instead of the Strand and surrounding areas.
