The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has completed its second local mission of the day – and its fourth in just 48 hours – following an emergency situation in Yarmouth.
It was at around 12:30 that flying medics touched down on the green in Yarmouth in response to a medical drama already being attended to by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
The air ambulance flew straight to the West Wight after taking off from Southampton General Hospital, where it had just completed another mission having airlifted an individual from Duxmore near Havenstreet.
HIOWAA has now returned to Southampton General, flying the seriously unwell patient from Yarmouth directly to the helipad for further, specialist treatment.
In the past 48 hours alone the air ambulance has attended 2 medical emergencies in Ryde, 1 at Duxmore and now a fourth at Yarmouth.
Well done to the wonderful Air Ambulance,
without this excellent mainland service and
the use of mainland hospitals, the island
would be in trouble.
Devolution is the answer for island prosperity.
