The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was scrambled to a medical emergency in Ryde late last night (Tuesday).
Flying doctors touched down at Simeon Street Recreation Ground at just before midnight, rendezvousing with an awaiting ambulance crew at the Rink Road entrance.
The yellow and green helicopter had to circle the town several times to find the ideal landing spot in the rather wet playing field.
Once on the ground, the HEMS team assessed the poorly patient and the decision was taken to fly them directly to Southampton General Hospital.
HIOWAA took off in the early hours, arriving at the mainland hospital at around 00:40.

The HIOWAA does a fantastic job helping to save lives, well done to all involved, and hope the patient recovers
