Services on Hovertravel are currently cancelled as a result of adverse weather on the Solent this morning (Sunday). All services between Ryde and Southsea have been pulled. Purchased tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s FastCat service. The next service update is expected at 11:45. UPDATE @ 16:00 – Services remain cancelled.

It’s flat calm on the Solent
Oh well, weather is the weather. People need to just deal with it and adapt.
They seem to manage to cross the English Channel in all weathers in small boats, and in the dark?
Staff member 1: “How many passengers waiting in the terminal?”
Staff member 2: “Just 3”
Staff member 1: “No point in running a craft with just 3 passenger”

Either your comment is in jest or perhaps you are just extremely cynical? Either way it’s not particularly helpful and way off the mark.
Oh and a journey by Hovercraft is called a flight not a sailing, just saying.
All hovercrafts should be fitted with giant umbrellas, thereby protecting it from the worst of the weather.
That wouldn’t help with the waves in the rough seas. They would need some sort of giant Wellington Boot as well that came up above their skirts.
