Due to a technical issue, Wightlink has cancelled 4 sailings on its Yarmouth-Lymington route today (Monday).
The cross-Solent operator says that the 10:45 and 13:00 sailings from Lymington have been pulled, alongside the 11:45 and 14:05 sailings from Yarmouth.
No further detail on the technical issue has been given.
Wightlink apologises for the inconvenience this action will cause.
UPDATE @ 15:10 – Due to an ongoing technical issue on the Lymington-Yarmouth car ferry service, Wightlink has had to cancel the 06:15, 08:40 and 10:45 sailings from Lymington and the 07:30, 09:45 and 11:45 sailings from Yarmouth on tomorrow (1st November).

hahahahahahahhahahaha yeah right
Ooooh, back to the ‘technical issues’ this week. How unfortunate that the essential ‘sick’ staff members return just to be hit by the bi weekly hardware faults.
I think the only ‘technical issue’ is that we don’t have a bridge.
Have all 3 ferries moored in Lymington the same technical fault?? Family member just had to cancel long a waited hospital appointment after this very last minute notification as unable due to disability travel as a foot passenger. No compassion from management. Staff on the shop floor not even informed but having to take the brunt of very angry passengers. Mr Seeley you really have to support Islanders NOW from having to put up with 3rd world services.
Sadly living on the Island is now a disability due to the atrocious Ferry companies.
Due to the cancelled sailings on the Yarmouth crossing and engineering works on the train route to Brighton this weekend one family member could only get there by going on the Fastcat and getting the train from Portsmouth instead of Southampton. This added £20 to the cost of travel by having to get to Ryde and pay for a more expensive Solent crossing. When he got to Portsmouth Harbour the train was cancelled.
We are living in a broken country.
A truly awful, and predictably unreliable ferry operator, their excuses for their poor service have no boundaries . Sadly customers mean nothing to them .. They will only listen when shareholders bail and sell shares..
Bob time for a strongly worded letter to the CEO .. as the voice for the island ?
Time for a Bridge
Bob Seely is not going to rock the boat as his cousin Patrick Seely is a director of Red Funnel
Bob couldn’t rock a packet of crisps
Useless ******
They cancelled the 7.30 this morning wasnt told till got there . My son missed his exam at collage.
we need a fixed link now. It’s happening to many times ..
I do hope these unfortunate service problems do not effect Wightlinks self measuring service reliability figures it would be a shame to see their regular 99.9% on time service and reliability slip, and customers see through the sham service.
You’ve hit the nail on the head there Paul,I doubt if he knows how to even open a packet of crisps, he is a complete waste of space
