4 people have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder following dawn raids on a number of properties as part of the investigation into the murder of Scott Cooper.
As first reported by Island Echo, Police from both sides of the Solent have conducted a number of raids at properties in Ryde and Newport this morning (Tuesday). It forms part of the ongoing murder investigation surrounding Scott Cooper’s Death in January of this year.
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that as a result of today’s activity, a 25-year-old man and a 41-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. In addition, 2 men who were previously arrested on suspicion of murder – a 28-year-old and a 29-year-old – were re-arrested today on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
All 4 men remain in custody at this time.
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that warrants were executed at addresses in George Street, Warwick Street, Star Street, and Quarry Road in Ryde. It’s known that a further raid was conducted in Newport also. Officers remain in the Ryde area today carrying out enquiries
38-year-old Piers Brazier, who has been charged with Scott’s murder, is due to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Thursday (17th March).
Forensic teams spent 11 days at the scene of Scott Cooper’s murder on George Street, Ryde as they pieced together the events that led his death. Mr Cooper’s body was found on the afternoon of 4th January 2022.

Too many like this in society now. Sad that so many have to turn to drugs to get any fulfillment out of their sad lives. What happened to getting a job and living a decent, law abiding life?

well –
firstly – many people who have suffered abuse take drugs/consume alcohol to forget and no longer feel.
secondly – for some, it is experimentation and the “high” you get is amazing to begin with -depending on the drug
thirdly – some see it as a right of passage in youth – go out and get drunk in the pub or get smashed on illegal drugs at a mates flat – or both.
of course sunshine, if that doesn’t answer it – the next time you feel pain and take paracetamol – consider the feelings of relief and pleasure that you feel as the pain subsides – it is that pleasure aspect that is the fascination with drugs and why they are so addictive and financially lucrative. (please note – paracetamol is used as an example to illustrate the point)
