A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs following simultaneous raids on addresses in both East Cowes and Newport this morning (Thursday).
At around 08:00, a large number of officers descended on Brinton Close on the Hawthorn Meadows estate in East Cowes and executed a warrant, smashing down the front door of a family home.
At around the same time, officers also carried out a raid on a commercial property being used as a hairdressers on Pyle Street, Newport.
Police have confirmed that a quantity of cannabis and suspected Class A drugs have been located and seized, along with a number of electrical devices.
A 39-year-old man from East Cowes has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. He remains in custody at Newport Police Station.
Enquiries remain ongoing at this time.
UPDATE 16/7/20@ 10:45 – Hampshire Constabulary has told Island Echo that a 39-year-old man arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs has been bailed until 12th August.
If your dealing filthy drugs, it’s just a matter of time before you are busted. Be warned.
This is good news, dealers are scum, keep reporting suspicions. if guilty he should be ashamed.
If this man has children I hope he is proud of himself, explain to them why you deal drugs and why you risk ruining their lives and that of your partner.
I hope the business is shut down too if he is guilty .
Quite, though the sentences metered out by the ‘justices’ are so lenient these days – it virtually gives these criminals the nod.
You say ‘keep reporting suspicions’; I have been doing so for ages along with some neighbours, nothing is ever done about it. Here in West Wight, motorcyclists go round most evenings brazenly dealing drugs, have been carrying on unchallenged for months and more. – They have free reign and they know it.
