23-YEAR-OLD FOUND WITH CHISEL CHARGED OVER SERIOUS SHANKLIN ASSAULT

23-year-old Megan Durham has been charged and remanded to appear before the Crown Court following a serious assault in Shanklin earlier this week.

As first reported by Island Echo, Police were called to an address on Atherley Road at around 22:40 on Monday (22nd November). Officers arrived to find a woman in her 40s who had sustained injuries to her head and leg.

Megan Durham, of Osborne Road in Shanklin, has since been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of an offensive weapon – namely a chisel.

She appeared before Magistrates yesterday and was remanded in custody to appear before the Crown Court on 4th January 2022.

2 other women, aged 32 and 45 years, were arrested as part of this investigation but have since been released with no further action.

Totally agree.What a vile piece of xxxx.Been in and out care since the age of 10.Kicked out of the foyer etc.Parents are coke and pill popping druggies all there Life.What do you expect.Seem to be shifting alot out of Ryde these days to shanklin and sandown.Such a Drain on tax payers money.Horrible…

There used to be ,still is benefit street ,,,, we will soon be known as benefit island .
if these ppl worked for a living paid their bills out of earnings they wouldn’t have no money left for drugs .
Good old benefits will keep it all going for them
