2 people have escaped any serious injury following a crash in Yarmouth this morning (Sunday).
The incident, which saw a car come to rest on its roof, occurred on Tennyson Road- the main road to and from Newport – at just before 06:00.
It was initially reported that 2 people were trapped inside the vehicle, prompting the mobilisation of fire crews from Newport and Freshwater.
However, occupants of the Fiat Punto managed to free themselves from the wreckage of the overturned car prior to the arrival of emergency services.
The duo were passed into the care of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service with paramedics checking them over at the scene.

For Tennyson Road read Silverstone nowadays.
Will be even worse, once the weak council open the ‘thank you’ in advance cards and allow motor cycles to compete in racing on our unsuitable roads, as copy cats will see to that.
Ban it.
Whoops a daisy, cars doing somersaults now, it’s laughable how these so called drivers get in such a pickle!. Heavy right foot, lack of brain cells to use common sense and to know your limitations as a driver!!
Hope the road isn’t too badly damaged!
And the driver has a driving licence… that is scary….
Did the driver get charged with driving without due care attention?
he wouldnt be charged he would have been reported but being a single vehicle rtc its doubtful he would have been reported for that.
