A 2-car collision is causing rush hour delays in Newport this afternoon (Thursday).
The incident has occurred on the St Mary’s interchange, close to the junction with Forest Road.
No one is thought to have been seriously injured in the smash but the vehicles have sustained heavy damage.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area – if at all possible – whilst the scene is cleared.
More bad driving on the IW
Is this the only comment you know how to write? I suppose you were present at all these accidents and know exactly who was at fault.
No doubt he’s a top advanced driver, who has never made an error of judgement behind the wheel of a car in his life.
Its the only comment because pretty much its true! Dont be so gullable.island driving is atrocious
And judging by the amount of red thumbs on here for true statements…your all sat on here.go get driving lessons .
If you got hit by a useless driver im sure you’d soon whine then
The idiots who give you thumbs down obviously think the outrageous accident count and reckless driving is acceptable.
Unfortunately the idiots do think it’s acceptable, there’s loads of them on this platform..
Dito
Proof.
Plenty more idiots will be along soon….it’s going to be a smashing summer..
Your comment is a stuck record, you give your opinion time after time regardless of the cause of the incident.
It is not funny and about time you realised it’s not appreciated.
Move on and grow up. Off you go bye bye.
It’s still should not happen if you drive according to the high way code every day there’s accidents caused by bad driving it’s got to stop use your mirrors and indicate where your going helps. it’s not rocket science is it and give a shi- about other people
There is plenty of bad driving on the Island, there is no doubt of that, however one comment does NOT cover the whole story. A little bit of intelligent thought and understanding would have a bigger impact than a simple one line comment that is used to cover all eventualities.
Some old story you trot out
Must be hay fever season.
This one was caused by Thanos snapping his fingers
Should rename it Islandcrasho
Did someone jump the lights then ??
How the bloody hell can an accident occur here, the movement of vehicles is controlled by traffic lights!
Just imagine what the island’s roads will be like if P Feather, 904 homes get the go ahead by the Planners! We think it’s bad now, so many more vehicles on our roads, it will be the point of no return. Carnage and constant traffic jams, increased pollution from exhausts when the world agreed pollution had carbon emissions must be reduced.
On that premise, should we stop tourism? Or tourists with cars? Over 750,000 visitors, a lot in vehicles, spent over £95 million here in 2019. Your argument, whilst laudable, is somewhat parochial.
Should have left roundabout I said it would happen all because pensioners can’t react quick enough to get out there will be fatalities
