2 men have been arrested and remain in custody following a street fight in Ryde yesterday afternoon (Wednesday), which resulted in a man sustaining injuries.
Police were called to Ryde town at 16:35 after receiving reports of a fight taking place in Union Road. Cordons were established up and down the residential street with blood seen splattered across wheelies bins and the pavement, as first reported by Island Echo.
Hampshire Constabulary has now confirmed that 3 men were seen fighting in the street whilst armed with weapons.
A 36-year-old man from Ryde has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and affray. A 37-year-old man, also from Ryde, has been arrested on suspicion of affray. Both men remain in custody at this time.
A man of an undisclosed age received minor injuries as a result of yesterday’s fight. He was treated for his injuries.
A search of a property on Union Road has been carried out and Police remain at the property this morning (Thursday).

So this is some of the “may lack impeccable manners but would do anything to help others” type of people that someone in the house building thread was describing that others were rightly calling undesirables?
