UPDATED: Wightlink will be operating a 1-boat service on their Yarmouth-Lymington route today (Sunday) as a technical issue has rendered 1 ferry unserviceable and Friday’s fire has seen the withdrawal of another.
It was announced yesterday that a normal timetabled service would resume from Lymington at 13:15 this afternoon following Friday’s fire on board Wight Sky, which has resulted in the vessel being taken out of service for inspection.
A technical issue has now arisen with 1 of the 2 remaining ferries meaning a revised timetable will be in operation for the rest of the day.
It is unknown at this stage if the 1-boat timetable will continue into the new week. It is thought an electrical fault is to blame.
UPDATE @ 16:37 – Wightlink have announced that they will be continuing a 1-boat service on Monday.
UPDATE MONDAY @ 10:56 – Wightlink have confirmed that they will be continuing their 1-boat service into Tuesday (18th December).
They apologise for any changes to your travel plans.
