HM Coastguard, Freshwater Independent Lifeboat and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service came together to rescue a young child from a beach in the West Wight.
The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked to the scene at Chilton Chine near Brighstone at just before 14:00 on Thursday afternoon. Freshwater Lifeboat was also sent to the scene due to a rising tide.
Coastguard officers placed the casualty – thought to be just 5-years-old – on a stretcher and carried them to the cliff top. Medical professionals were querying a neck injury.
Thanks has been given to Isle of Wight Pearl for providing shelter and refreshments whilst the rescue team awaited the arrival of an ambulance.
