A 20-year-old woman has been arrested by officers after a disturbance in a quiet residential area of Newport yesterday evening (Friday).
Police units were called to Newport’s Lavender Way at around 18:40 following reports received about a woman shouting outside an address and assaulting a man.
Officers attended the cul-de-sac on the new St George’s Gate development, where a woman from Cowes was searched and arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, and assault by beating.
No injuries were reported by those involved in the incident.
