Police investigating an act of criminal damage, in which a gang of people smashed up the windows of a car parked in ASDA car park, are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Between 18:30 and 19:00 last Friday (10th February), the windows of a green Volkswagen Golf were smashed whilst the vehicle was parked in the car park of Newport’s ASDA supermarket.
It’s claimed that a van pulled into the car park off St George’s Way and the occupants jumped out before proceeding to commit the act of criminal damage.
The Golf owner was shopping at the time and returned to his vehicle to find it damaged.

I reported the idiots that race around the car park al night and were told that the store has no authority to move these inconsiderate individuals on….. We certainly live in a nation full of pansies these days when you can’t tell people to leave private land or even better put the barrier down at night so they can’t access the car park after hours!!!

They didn’t break the windows. They have CCTV.
The store security are not going to intervene if there is a group doing the damage. They don’t get paid enough and is probably not in their job description

A van drives into a car park, stops next to a car, the occupants get out and proceed to smash it up.
Could be a personal beef. Could be drug related. Could be they had a “disagreement” with the Golf driver on the road.
Definitely deliberate and targeted.

But the store allows idiots racing around while it’s open, endangering shoppers. If they can’t sort it out themselves report the drivers for dangerous driving and ban them from their property. Not just turn a blind eye to the childish idiots racing around.
Of course it’s in there job description you know the word SECURITY in the job title they are highed to provide security for the Asda premises that includes the car park so yes the “security guards” should intervene and alert police detain the perpetrators that is their job they are just a bunch of lazy idol pussy’s that carry their guts around their waist line useless idiots that should be sacked so they can go sit in a doughnut shop and the security company can higher some staff with real muscle and guts to do the job

Need ANPR cameras at the 3 mainland car ferries to check suspect vehicles and stop them crossing if there is a crime

Make life more difficult for dealers
Most of all check the private harbours on a random basis.
Keep reporting the dealers. They destroy neighbourhoods.
Finally the Home Secretary needs to increase maximum sentences for dealers and violent criminals. Jail only. Fines don’t work.

I thought that was for boarding purposes as part of the commercial operation , not for crime prevention. Not sure the system is in any way linked to the POLICE network, which is what I would advocate.

For these kinds of people, it could simply be parking in their road or tooting their horn at the van after the van pulled out on them. I’ve seen people loose total control because they think someone looked at the wrong. Dope causes paranoia, it’s proven and I have seen it in people I have worked with that had an out of control habit.

Well let’s hope Asda have CCTV, it isn’t their fault. Reading the story, and it looks like a targeted attack. Wasn’t like lots of cars were damaged. Sounds fortunate the driver wasn’t in the car at the time!
