The Wishing Well pub in Pondwell on the outskirts of Ryde is to close at the beginning of the New Year, it has been confirmed.
Business owner Kathryn Rich has said that the public house will close its doors on Saturday 2nd January after negotiations for a new lease with landlord Robert Ball, failed.
10 full and part time staff are to be laid off and all fixtures and fittings are being sold as a result of the forthcoming closure.
Kathryn said it is a ‘very very sad day’.
