For the 2nd week in succession, the Wightlink Warriors have had to cancel the speedway meeting scheduled for Thursday (3rd August) at the Smallbrook Stadium in Ryde.
Co-owner Barry Bishop said:
“Thursday’s meeting is off. It is sad news for race fans with 2 meetings in a row falling foul of the weather, however with the inclement conditions overnight, more rain due today (Wednesday) and again tomorrow we have taken the decision to cancel.
“We never take such decisions lightly as we want regular weekly speedway, but the loss for a rain off for the club would be substantial and we always want our guests to have the very best of experiences with us.
“We are hoping for better luck next week when we hold the Nora British Upright Championship Grand Final.”
Good a horrible noisy, polluting, dangerous and light pollution event.
Ban it for good, we can hear it clearly along High Park rd in Ryde.
Typical nimby tree hugging pratt. Do us all a favour and stop breathing.
