3 long-serving figures behind Wight Eagles FC are to leave the club next month after helping establish and grow the women’s and girls’ football setup since 2019.
Wight Eagles FC has confirmed that Glen Warren, Scott Ronán and Dan Verstraeten will all depart the club on 6th June 2026.
Glen Warren has served as Club Treasurer, Scott Ronán as Club Secretary and Dan Verstraeten as Director of Football.
The club has thanked all 3 for their dedication and commitment over the past several years, highlighting the countless hours they have given up to help run the club and coach girls’ and ladies’ teams since Wight Eagles was formed in 2019.
Dan Verstraeten said:
“I would like to personally thank Scott for all the time and effort he has given the club over the last 5 years since taking up the role as secretary.”
“It certainly isn’t an easy job plus it’s a full-time job and Scott has played a vital role in the club.”

When the club lost our first treasurer the club’s books were a right mess and Glen managed to get this all back up to the highest level and made sure that the money people were putting into the club were secure.”
“I personally want to thank everyone that has been on this journey with me from 2019 when we started the club. I really couldn’t have done this without all the support from the staff, parents, volunteers, sponsors and all the players during my time.”
“It has been one of the proudest moments I’ve ever achieved starting a football academy for girls and women to play football on the Island and long may it carry on.”
“In my eyes we will be leaving a legacy built for the future and I want to wish everyone the very best of luck.”
Wight Eagles FC was founded in 2019 and has provided opportunities for girls and women across the Isle of Wight to get involved in football at a grassroots level.
