From boxing to brunches, fashion to football, parties to popstars and wakes to weddings – GGs is an available-for-hire venue that offers it all…
Centrally located on Staplers Road, Newport and incorporating both Stirrups and the Island Riding Centre arena, GGs offers 3 flexible indoor spaces, as well as large outdoor areas that include a small woodland, an all weather play area with seating and – during summer months – a huge field.
Since opening, GGs has hosted Royals, the High Sherriff Declaration, Tropic Skincare’s regional conference, Oktoberfest, MMA, boxing, wrestling, the world’s biggest bouncy castle, the classic motorcycle show, big screen football, charity balls, awards, fashion shows, school proms, fayres, live comedy, music and dance!
The main bar/restaurant area with a heated patio at the rear with sliding glazing can cater for up to 120 guests, whilst ‘Stirrups’ upstairs has a huge private balcony terrace and can host up to 100 people – ideal for private bookings that can including catering for sit down, buffet or just drinks. Both have their own private bar and toilets.
The arena offers a flexible space that is typically sectioned off to host up to 300 seated for dinner or 500 with a mix of seating and standing, with the option of 1 or 2 bars, staging and full production – but by arrangement can be extended to the full arena space for larger events.
Located conveniently on the Southern Vectis number 9 bus route between Ryde and Newport you can leave your car at home but don’t worry, the large car park can take over 200 cars and has the option of additional overflow parking in the summer months too.
Oh, and don’t forget, GGs is a fully licensed wedding venue too! You can hire the whole venue exclusively and move between spaces for your ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception.
