Here’s a list of all the Royal Mail strikes that are taking place in December, causing chaos up and down the country in the run-up to Christmas.
For many who work a lot and don’t have time to get to the shops, ordering items from Amazon, eBay or any other online retail sites is the way to go. But for people looking for convenient shopping this Christmas you could face the prospect of your parcels or letters not arriving at all.
On no fewer than 7 days in the month of December, the busiest time for Royal Mail deliveries, including 23rd and 24th December, workers will strike as a dispute with company hierarchy about pay continues.
Strikes will be held on 1st, 9th, 11th, 14th, 15th, 23rd and 24th December.
Anyone ordering presents or sending Christmas cards in the lead-up to Christmas Day is advised to do so as early as possible to avoid parcels and letters getting caught in the chaos.
The delivery of items bought over the Black Friday and Cyber Monday period last weekend has already been delayed after workers again decided to strike on numerous dates last week including on Black Friday itself.
Royal Mail has said that it has made its best and final offer and has accused the union of “holding Christmas to ransom”.
Unless an agreement is reached between Royal Mail and those from the Communications Workers Union and planned strikes are cancelled, disruption this Christmas is to be expected.

Why don’t you actually tell the facts for once island echo, this isn’t just about pay as you continue to say, it’s also about terms and conditions , do some research
Before all you moaners start , it’s not just about pay it’s about terms and conditions and the destruction of Royal Mail, do some research
I back you 100%
Honk Honk
Surely its better to go and work to rule, as opposed not going, at least if you work to rule you get paid.
They do get paid for striking.
No we don’t do some research
How did you work that one out you idiot.
You obviously have never worked to rule as its not easy to know what you can and can’t do. That’s why it’s never used in union disputes
Lambs to the slaughter. What will the do when the Royal Mail folds?? Another major success by the well paid communist union leaders.
Again, no honking of horns along riverway the other day. Get the message and go back to work.
2nd in from the left in the main picture doesn’t think he is doing the right thing or he wouldn’t be hiding his face
‘Here’s a list of all the Royal Mail strikes that are taking place in December’ incase no-one notices.
Letters arrive when they arrive, will anyone notice that you don’t get a delivery on a particular day?
There’s plenty of alternatives to Royal Mail these days, I honestly can’t see them affecting anyone else apart from themselves by striking.
And, yes, I love my Postie – well, not literally you know!
sound like royal mail on a normal day then so nothing change. so no worries
I feel the GPO as we know will be no more very soon, many companies now offer door to door service at half the cost. Fully understand the reasons for industrial action however this is just tapping the nail a bit further into the coffin
After Christmas they won’t have any cards left to play. And sympathy will have run out. Long strikes never end well for workers.
Royal Mail workers have been moaning for years and years they will never be happy.
If they don’t like the conditions leave nobody forces them to work there.
Do the staff understand the whole company needs to be moved to the 21st century. Letters are
a thing of the past it is now all about parcels.
Some people rely on letters and birthday and Christmas cards.for some it’s there life line
yes and there is more then royal mail. royal lol no just mail
My local postman is worth his weight in gold.
Great Guy, excellent efficient service, well deserving of a pay rise.
I will make sure he gets his Christmas Box again this year for doing a
superb job.
I so wish Royal Mail treated their workers fairly.
Why don’t you ask your postman why we are striking
If the job Was soooo bad andrew …guy in baseball cap 3rd from left been there at sandown when i worked there back in early 90s believe it or not!…even when the strikes were on back then!! So hes obv proof job aint so bad as HE’S STILL there lol
Doesn’t prove anything just proves that Andrew stayed in the job and is loyal don’t start having a go at him he’s one of the good guys , you jumped ship remember
i get being lyal. but what does that help you in terms of pay or so. nothing any more these days
Unfortunately roy we don’t have a crystal ball to tell the future , in some cases people have 30 years service one has 42 years service and to be treated this way by Royal Mail bosses whose ceo has been there 18 months is truly disgusting
No offence intended and sorry to get personal, BUT, It sounds to me like you were part of the problem, back in the day.
So glad that you scabs have all left, could’nt hack it could you !
Up the Workers….Honk honk !
Most of the older posties are trapped in the job by their company pensions.
They are striking for the future of RM and for the youngsters that are treated like donkeys.
what else is new. the normal people pay for whjat these dictator companies dont want 2.
