Heightened Police activity on a residential road in East Cowes concluded this afternoon (Tuesday) with a man being sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
Police were called at 10:44 this morning when concerns were raised for the welfare of a man on Jennifer Way.
A large number of officers attended the scene and closed a footpath connecting to York Avenue for a time.
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that the man was subsequently detained under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act.

Another typical day in monkey town.
Your another person that takes life for granted, you also never know what’s around the corner….more like you will be along soon…
The usual drivel from the ‘quack’. Time you were struck off.
i wouldn’t have it any other way. love East Cowes and the people that live there
Oh do be quiet. Go ‘Jollop’ off somewhere else.
More taxpayer’s money….
Do you pay tax?…don’t take life for granted, you never know what’s around the corner….
I do pay tax. You say that whilst you waste your life on here being a prick
Hope he receives the help he needs, more will be along soon…
Maybe not this case, but so many low lives take drugs, and then end up loopy, and expect, and get the NHS to treat them.
Need to bring back old style asylums for those who self inflict mental issues upon themselves via drugs.
In my experience, most people who take hard drugs often do so to numb childhoods trauma or to feel an escape from whatever issue they may have. Not in all cases just plenty I know of.
Pretty sure they don’t give up a steady job and family life to start using drugs as a hobby?
Not related to this story as there are no details yet yol just straight to conclusions!
I would love to chuck you into a mental hospital and then for no fault of your own!! From that day on your word is in question “..even if you don’t lie and you are up against a lier ?? You will have to provide proof, but more than anything? I would love to put my hand on yours and give you my mind!! Lol you’d piss your nickers and kill your self, more than likely, or you can wait to be saved by the mental health team
Bring ur whole crew lmao
What harsh comments. The poor man, we do not know the reasons why he was detained under the mental health act, let’s hope he recovers soon and enjoys his life.
Thanks for saying that Jenny these people don’t realise it could happen to them and they don’t know the facts just the usual gossips
“Sectioned under the Mental Health Act” – that’s the majority of Islands then.
Go back to where you came from then.
Usual stupid comment go somewhere else then simple
Hope he gets the help he needs.
Can not believe the people here who are absolutely heartless. You have absolutely no clue what these people have gone through in their life time. Mercy, y’ll are so quick to be judge and jury. Who made you God to judge these poor people???? I’ve been a social worker for over 25 years. I’ve worked with the homeless in skid row in Los Angeles and let me tell you no one wanted to live in the streets. I’m apaulied at the attitude of the people who responded to the needs of this person
Don’t take it personaly, myself and others are mostly just on a wined up.
But some people on this site are to thick to relise this.
To full of there own self-importance and bloated egos.
ps get well soon fella x
